Little Drummer Girl

Great Grandma Sally bought Ellie "bongos" for Christmas. She LOVES them! She sits with them and pounds on them to see them light up and hear the music. We have started to fold them together so she can play with them while crawling and she then pushes the bongos to watch them roll. Ellie is following in the foot steps of her daddy...the "Big Drummer Boy!"

7 month check-up :)

I know babies are supposed to have a 6 month check up, but poor Ellie has been sick all of January. We ended up scheduling her check-up an entire month after it was due! Nurse Karen was sick yesterday and Ellie was not pleased with her fill in. We have been to the doctor so much lately that Ellie recognizes the nurse! She smiles and laughs at her. When the fill-in took Ellie to be weighed, she was not too happy about it :) She squirmed and whined, looking at her thinking, "where is that other lady?". She was given two shots as well, and was one crabby little girl last night.

7 month stats:
Weight: 15 pounds (25th percentile)
Height: 28 3/4 inches (10th percentile)

Ellie is now eating cereal in the morning and veggies with some fruit at night. She has had all of the stage 1 veggie baby food and we are working on the fruit. She loves sweet potatoes and squash! (mommy's favorites as well) We are still working on tricking her into eating the green beans. They smell awful, I can't imagine how they taste! Sometimes when she is really hungry we can get a full 6 oz bottle in her :) She has come very far with her eating and has almost outgrown her reflux.
New Pictures to be posted tomorrow!

OUCH!

A tooth is finally breaking through! Ellie has been teething for months now, drooling, chewing on everything and a bit crabby at times. She makes this funny face when her teeth are hurting her, we call it the "pirate face" :)
On Sunday she was gnawing on my hand as usual and I felt something sharp! Once I got her tongue out of the way I could see the tops of two new teeth coming in! It will be her first, and second! I will try to get a picture either of her teeth or the pirate face to post.

On a sad note Ellie had strep throat last week. She was so sick it made us very sad. Ellie rarely wants to cuddle (unless tired) but she would not let us put her down.
