Frenemies

As some of you know we have two dogs and two cats at home. Lucy the cat loves the dogs. As soon as she hears them come inside she goes running down stairs to play. Gabby (cat pictured) on the other hand hates the dogs. She avoids them at all costs...especially Bell (dog pictured) So, I was beyond shocked when I walked by our four seasons room and saw them lounging in the sun together. I could not get over it. Gabby even stayed put long enough for me to get a picture.
Maybe they have put their differences aside :) Bell looks a bit nervous :) It cracks me up

Bad Hair Day

Ellie woke up this morning with the craziest hair. This picture doesn't do it justice! She reminded me of Cindy Lou Who from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". Since moving to her own room she has a ton of room to roll around in her crib. It is fun to go get her in the morning, knowing that she will be in a completely different place in her bed then where we put her down. Unfortunately all that rolling around creates some bad hair days :)

Bad Hair Day!
Jeez mom!!! My happy little baby :)

Half way to 1 year old

Little Ellie is 6 months old!!!!!
Here are some updates:
Sleeping- Ellie is currently on a sleeping schedule (well compared to what it was:) She naps twice a day and is in bed by 7:30 at night! Ellie is still waking up once in the middle of the night to eat. Jeremy and I cannot believe how far she has come! We both recall stressful, exhausting nights up with her as an infant, and now we are able to relax and spend some time together once she is put to sleep. (makes me want to have another:)
Eating-Ellie is eating 5 ounces 6-7 times a day, and cereal at night. We plan on starting her on some veggies and fruits this week! She loves her cereal and starts whining if you don't move fast enough for her!
Pooing- Now that Ellie is eating some solid foods she is having some major diaper blow outs! We end up changing her clothes at least once a day (and that is a good day). Poor thing she takes after her father in this area.
Playing-Ellie loves to play with her toys. She rolls and scoots everywhere in order to get her hands on what she wants. She also loves to play with mommy and daddy's face and hair! When I walk through the door I immediately take my earrings out...I don't think it would feel to great if she got ahold of one still in my ear!
Laughing- Best sound in the world!!!!
And yes she is still all about Jumping!!!!
We are excited to see what the next 6 months will bring!

Our little Tigger

My spoiled little girl
Ellie has a toy very similar to this one pictured at Rhonda's (daycare). Every time we picked her up from Rhonda's she was bouncing and laughing in her bouncy saucer chair. Ellie would desperately try to bounce in our saucer toy at home, but it does not bounce. So, we broke down and bought her one that bounced (like I've said in past posts she is a very spoiled child) :) Well, she has turned into a "Mini Tigger" she never stops jumping...even when you are holding her she jumps and jumps. I think that we have a little terror on our hands!

No Tears!

We finally moved Ellie to her room at night. She was sleeping in a "pack n play" in our room but with the recent illness that has hit our home (me coughing all night long) it was best for her to be in her own room. Jeremy has been begging me for weeks to put her in her own room. I was very reluctant, but finally gave in last night. She seemed to do pretty well. This morning when I went in to get her she was on the opposite side of the bed with no covers on and both socks off. Her new thing is playing with her feet :) In a previous post I was very hopeful that she would be sleeping through the night...but she is back to waking up once a night for a bottle. She just teases us once in awhile and sleeps all night long.
We had to evict the occupants from her room...but they have gladly rejoined us in bed :)

Yum Yum

Ellie had her first experience with food! (okay so it was just runny rice cereal) At first she looked very confused, but after a few bites she was opening her mouth for the spoon :) I could not stop laughing and was able to get a few pics of her in the process. She has eaten cereal for two days now and slept through the night both nights!!! YEAH!
Before
After :) (she was a mess) More Please

Baptism

Ellie was baptised this past Sunday the 28th. It is a bit late considering she is 5 months old, but it was difficult to get both Godparents in DBQ with Aundrea being so far away and Eric's busy wrestling schedule. She was baptized after mass with 3 other kids. She was actually the youngest baby, which surprised me considering we waited so long. Ellie was lucky enough to wear the same baptismal gown that Jeremy wore when he was baptised! It was handmade by his great grandmother (I think that I have this right) and worn by a few other people in the family including Eric. It is a beautiful gown! The pictures don't quite do it justice.

She smiled at him the entire time:)

Thank you to everyone who was a part of Ellie's day. Especially her Godparents, Eric and Aundrea! We thank you for agreeing to be such a special person in Ellie's life. You are the best Godparents around!

Ellie's First Christmas

This year was Ellie's first Christmas! She is 5 1/2 months old, so she wasn't so into it, but it was still a ton of fun. She would grab onto wrapping paper and pull (sometimes), but most of the time it was one of us opening up her gifts. Which I found just as fun as opening up a gift for myself :) Ellie is one spoiled little girl, luckily we had two vehicles in DBQ, because I was unable to fit all of our gifts in one car! Here is a picture with some of her gifts from Christmas.
Besides getting oodles of gifts Ellie was lucky enough to meet her Godmother, Aundrea for the first time on Christmas day! Aundrea spoiled her with attention and too many presents. Ellie went right to her with no tears! Christmas was always one of my favorite holidays, but it is so much more fun with a baby! I'm sure that it will get better each year! Especially once Ellie has 3 more siblings added to the bunch! (I still have to convince Jeremy to agree to that :)
