Splash Pad in Center Point

We have found a brand new splash pad in our own little town of Center Point. I complain and complain about living here,, but they are finally starting some new initiatives for the better of the town. Splash pad and new park is one of them (we can only hope sidewalks will be next:)
We went on Father's Day for the first time. Ellie LOVED it, and Owen had a pretty good time as well. Ellie has no fear and at one point told a much older boy who had bumped into her,"no pushing, it's not nice!" she can definitely hold her own :)


Happy Father's Day Daddy! Daddy and Owen hung out at the splash pad while I chased Ellie around. They had a great time! We made Jeremy a steak dinner for supper with apple pie for dessert, it was a wonderful day filled with family time!

I have been so busy, and unfortunaly the Blog has taken a hit. But, I'm bound and determined to get back in the game.

New Years Eve

Happy New Year!!!!

Jeremy had to work on New Years Eve this year :( My mom came down to keep us company, but she fell asleep at 10:00! Needless to say it was a pretty low key night. Here are some pictures of our night. Owen and I rang in the New Year together!

Goals for 2010

It is a new year...time for some NEW goals!

Danielle's Goals:

-Lose 10 pounds by March

-Train and Complete the Pig Man Triathalon-June 6th

-Complete Action Research for my Masters Degree

-Organize pictures in photo books (wedding, Ellie, Owen)

-Run the BIX 7-July 24th (I'm usually too chicken :)

-Graduate in December with a Masters Degree

Ellie's Goals:

-Move into a "big girl bed" by April

-Lose the binkies!

-Potty trained by the age of two (hoping)

-Start communicating with 2-3 word sentences

-Take gymnastics this summer

-Take music class this summer

Owen's Goals:
-Grow big! (hoping more than 18 pounds by 1 year old)
-Roll over
-Sit up
-Start rice cereal by 6 months and proceed to other big boy foods
-Crawl
-Walk by Thanksgiving

Jeremy's Goals:
-Win the Midwest Final Four Rugby Tournament in May
-Complete the Pigman Triathlon
-Get driveway done to garage
-Build deck
-New sink in kitchen
-Further Education through Kirkwood Community College

Family Goals:
-Heathy year in 2010!!!
-Spend time with one another
-Eat dinner together (most every night)
-Laugh often :)

Christmas

Christmas is my all time favorite holiday! This year we stayed in Center Point to keep Owen a healthy growing boy. We missed everyone greatly, but also had a nice quiet time at home.

It was really fun watching Ellie open her presents. The first one she opened was a "Little People Farm", she loved it so much we had a hard time getting her to open anything else.
Owen slept the entire time...he will enjoy his presents in a few months. :)

Christmas Eve with YaYa and Grandpa

My parents came over to our house on Christmas Eve to celebrate together. We opened presents and ate great food! Ellie and Owen were spoiled as usual. We were so happy they could make it down with all the crazy weather surrounding the holiday.

Cookies!

I love making Christmas Cookies every year! I can remember making them ever since I was a little girl. I use my Grandma Heins' recipe (although she makes them much better) and make my own frosting. The past two years I have had to make them all by myself. This year Lindsay and Josh came over to help frost them! Well, actually Lindsay helped and Josh drank with Jeremy :) I put Ellie in her chair and she enjoyed licking the frosting off the cookies!
